Property Description

Just twenty miles from Santa Fe and a world away, these 80 acres offer a perfect blend of rural living and modern convenience. Separated into two adjacent 40 acre lots, with a well with an excellent flow rate, well-maintained gravel roads, and underground power, this property offers expansive vistas and country quiet while still being easy to access and develop. Sited at the shoulder of a ridge where the Ortiz foothills begin to drop to the Galisteo basin below, the lots have an interesting and varied topography, with multiple flat and accessible build sites as well as dramatic arroyos. Views of the Ortiz and the Sangre de Cristo's dominate, while some potential building sites offer 360 degree views. Two lots present greater building opportunities than a single lot would, and the neighborhood is gated, but has no HOA. Covenants have style restrictions but no minimum build sizes, buyers seeking to build a smaller home would find a place here. Minutes from dining and entertainment in Madrid and Cerrillos. Backs to a larger ranch for increased privacy. Horses welcome. Gated, please make an appointment to see.

Neighborhood Info

Cerrillos & Madrid

Once home to the large mining community, Madrid is now a sleepy little town of artists. With an ice cream parlour and old fashioned businesses, Madrid feels other-worldly to visitors. Homes here are early 20th century wooden structures painted a variety of colors. Just north of Madrid is Cerrillos, a traditional New Mexico village of older adobes and quaint shops.

The Turquoise Trail | Highway 14

The Turquoise Trail! A beautiful road from Santa Fe all the way to Albuquerque. With many lots 2.5 acres or more, this area is perfect for raising horses on wide open spaces with fewer building restrictions than in the city of Santa Fe. The famous Eaves Movie Ranch where movies like “The Cheyenne Social Club” and “Silverado”were filmed completes the Old West feeling.

Santa Fe County Southwest

This rapidly growing area with plans for expansion extending into the 2050’s is largely made up of rolling hills dotted with pinon and juniper. Most of the communities located here have extraordinary views of the Jemez, the Sangres and the Sandias.
